Global warming can be described as an increase in average temperatures within the Earths atmosphere as well as in oceans. This trend started by the end of the 19th century but kept on increasing each time since then. The earths mean temperatures have also been increasing since the start of the world phenomenon. This report addresses the Causes and effects of Global Warming. Introduction The causes of global warming are said to be caused by an increased cases of greenhouse gases. These greenhouse gases are produced by various human activities across the globe. The various human activities are mainly economic and aimed at creating economic returns from the various human activities. Some of the human or economic activities that contribute to global warming are illegal or they are regulated to mitigate the environmental impact from the activities. This research paper looks at global warming and the problematic part of phenomenon. The paper starts from looking at the various causes of global warming. In the paper, the impacts of the global problems are to be analyzed including what has been done to get rid of the various causes of global warming and mitigate the effects would be brought out. Again, the paper would look at the possible efforts that can be initiated to reduce the problem or mitigate its effects. The causes of global warming are vast and some are beyond human control. Governments have therefore come together to bring efforts that would aid in dealing with the causes of global warming. Some individuals and organizations operate against the global regulations that have been put in place to prevent environmental pollution that contributes in global warming. Dealing with such individuals and organization requires an analysis of the global warming problem (Barnett, Adam and Lettenmaier, 306). Some cases the topic may seem unclear and therefore understanding what global warming is would be of substance in this research. In understanding the topic or the problem, pointing out some major characteristics of global warming would be a great idea. The problem has increasingly become a political issue of debating. Research Questions i.What are the causes of global warming? ii.What are the effects of global warming iii. What efforts have been in place to deal with the factors contributing to global warming? Research Objectives i.To indicate the causes of global warming ii.To elaborate the effects of global warming iii.To point out any efforts in place to prevent the factors affecting global warming Literature review The issue of climatic change has remained a problem of research and examination by scientists for a long past. Climatic change is said to be a major characteristic of global warming. Climatic change is however adverse in some regions of the world or it may happen one in a very long time like the case of the US summer of 1988 (Cangialosi, 1). The summer affected various parts of the United Arabs an aspect that elevated the concern on global warming. Beside this occurrence, the Earths temperature has increase by one degree Fahrenheit, which is equivalent to three fifths of degree Celsius unit. This change has happened within the past one century (Houghton, Ding and Griggs). The warmest years of the 20th century happened in the last five year of the century implying that the trend is still increasing despite all efforts that have been in place to mitigate the effect of the economic activities that cause global warming (Houghton, Ding and Griggs). Global warming was not well understood especially on the aspect of greenhouse gases being the major cause. Scientists are increasingly agreeing with the fact that greenhouse gases are the main causes of global warming. On another aspect, greenhouse gases have been said to be caused by human activities. Arguments however exist as to whether greenhouse gases are also release by natural geographical and biological activities. The natural processes that are argued to produce greenhouse gases include volcanoes and forest fires (Bruce, Lee
