From this point onwards Nicholas was referred to by the people as not their â€Å"little father† but â€Å"Nicholas the Bloody†. The present ruler ha s lost absolutely the affection of the Russian people, and whatever the future may have in store for the dynasty, the present tsar will never again be safe in the midst of his people. The Bolsheviks played a minimal role in the 1905 revolution as most of their leaders were living in exile and their impact and influence on the workers in that year was weak as well as having no Duma faction. This demonstrates that the Bolsheviks had a minor role in the pinnacle events that led to the downfall of the Romanov dynasty but rather gained support after Nicholas’ abdication. This would seem like the norm for lower class people trying to survive in the rat race of society. Yet, the story isnt merely George and Lennies search for jobs. Rather, it is about their all out quest for the American Dream, the dream of owning their own stake of land and ending their subservience to their bosses. In order for this to happen, however, George and Lennie had to remain a team. They had to pool their resources as well as their manpower, something their apparent mutual love for each other seemed to take care of. Yet, an irrevocable rift between them sent the dream crashing down. This caused Georges feelings of love and understanding to change from being existent to non-existent. Since the passing of Lennies aunt, George felt an obligation to take care of Lennie as well as to act as his guardian. George fulfilled thi s role with love and understanding. We first see change in Georges attitude towards Lennie when they moved onto the ranch, their place of work. George immediately feels that he is jeopardizing his relationship with other men in order to defend Lennies actions. George is further discouraged when he realizes, based on Lennies behavior that he can never be left alone- even to go to the bathroom. Lennie cant even be trusted not to kill puppies while petting them. Lennie, in fact, goes so far as to kill the owners daughter-in-law. By this point, George, a nice yet overly ambitious individual, could no longer control this growing contempt towards his once beloved Lennie. Changing ones identity doesnt change their personality. Moving away andstarting a new life can be an attempt to change ones identity. Starting overcan be for the better, but people stay the same more often than not. In the verybeginning of the novel, George and Lennie are in a bar. In the bar Lennie sees alittle girl with a bright, red dress. Lennies attracted to the color, and hehas a tendency to touch what he sees. He therefore approached the girl andstarting feeling her dress. She tried to leave but Lennie anxiously got a quickgrabbing of the dress. This frightened the girl, which therefore lead to herscreaming and yelling rape. While all of this was going on Lennie was so scaredand confused that he just kept a tight grab on the girls dress. Lennie beingthat who he is did not know any better, Well, how the hell did she know youjus wanted to feel her dress? She jerks back and you hold on like it was amouse. She yells and we got to hide in an irrigation ditch all day with guyslookin g for us, and we must sneak out in the dark and get outta the country. pg24. The incident that occurred exemplifies Lennies behavior. Lennie is aman of unlimited intelligence who seems unaware of its massive strength. Afterall of this has happened, Lennie and George decide that the best thing would beto change their identity and leave the town as soon as possible. As the novelprogresses Lennies change of identity does not change who he really is. Towards the end of the book after Lennie had just killed a pup:God damn you, he cried. Why do you have to get killed? You arentso little as mice. He picked up the pup and hurled it from him. He turned hisback on it. But for some reason, this time, I decided that helping her runaway would be fun. Dee and I had been best friends since we met in sixth grade. We helped each other through the roughest times of our teenage years, and we were partners in crime. It was a beautiful night-cool breeze, clear sky and I was feeling happy and free. We were driving around in my blue eighty-seven Ford LTD. Which I didnt care that it was just as old as I, or that a battery powered boom box had its place in between us on the seat. I picked Dee up from work around ten oclock and we planned our night out. She was supposed to be home by ten thirty, but whats the worst her mom would do? Dee didnt plan on ever going back anyway. I on the other hand, had told my dad I was staying at a friends house around the block, although I planned on sneaking into my room later on that night. We knew a guy who did piercings out of his house in a part of town that we referred to as the hood, and Dee wanted her eyebrow pierced. We saw no problem with this; who else would pierce a fifteen year olds eyebrow without parental consent in the middle of the night? When we arrived, the house was poorly lit and smelled like dust. There was an old couch with a tacky pattern of flowers in one corner and a computer desk with a kitchen chair in front of it in another. Then there was a cart Dee sat in front of to get pierced. I sat on the corner of the couch closest to the door, while Dee waited to get pierced. As he was cleaning and preparing, we were listening to the scanner in the background. The broadcast that came over the scanner said they were looking for two female runaways age fifteen, driving a blue Ford LTD. We denied that they were talking about us. Dee got her eyebrow pierced, threw up from the blood and we got out of there. While we were enjoying our freedom, little did we know that Dee’s mom realized she never came home, so she called my dad to see if she was with me. My dad called my alleged location and I wasn‘t there. Because Dee had already threatened to run away, the cops were called. They thought we were running away together. Now my gas tank was on empty and I had to get Dee where she was going so I could get home. We stopped at the gas station with only three dollars and headed out of town. Our destination was about thirty minutes away, except ten miles down the highway the three dollars in gas was gone. It wasn’t a busy highway, there was one house around but we got no answer. We decided to flag down the next car we saw to hitch a ride. As soon as I saw the flashing lights, I knew I had made a mistake. At first I panicked and turned to run. After weighing the options, I decided I probably wouldnt get far. The police officer asked our names and immediately knew who we were. He put us in his SUV, me in the back sitting next to his not so cute dog, and Dee in the front. With my palms sweating, my stomach in knots, and my heart pounding, I watched him search my vehicle and waited for the dreaded ride to wherever he was taking us. As he pulled in my driveway, I was slightly relieved yet still scared to face my dad. I walked up the porch stairs with the police officer, my dad waiting for us at the front door. I was crying and waiting to get a scolding. So you can imagine I was surprised as he grinned and said, Welcome home, kiddo, as if he was making fun of me. And then I got grounded for lying about where I was that night. The next night Dee tried to run away again and got locked up in the juvenile detention center. The importance of this group came from the fact that they are speaking Tuvan, a language consider by linguists to be among a group of languages that are considered to be on the edge of extinction because of the low numbers of people that speak it. Tuvan is among the 3500 small languages that are spoken only by 8. 25 million people in the entire world, which is a very low fraction of the seven billion people who inhabit the earth. A separate culture tube should be used as a sleep chamber to anesthetize Drosophila before characterizing the phenotypes. 4] For each mutation investigated, a culture tube was prepared by the instructor and the flies in these containers served as the Fl generation, the result of parental crossing of wild type males and mutant females. The first step was to anesthetize the Drosophila so they could be counted and sorted by phenotype. Drosophila can easily be anesthetized and manipulated with unsophisticated equipment. In the case of this particular experiment the substance provided to anesthetize the Drosophila with was called Flyway. Flyway consists of a mixture of: 50% Trampoline, 25% Ethanol, and 25% Fragrances. 6] The flies were transferred from the food chamber to the sleep chamber. Once in the sleep chamber, a foam stopper was placed in the tube and a swab dipped in Flyway was inserted into the container. After roughly 60-90 seconds, the flies were fully anesthetized. Once anesthetized, the flies were carefully poured onto a white index card and divided into four categories: male (0*) wild type, male (0*) mutant, female (4) wild type, and female (4) mutant. A soft, fine- tipped paint brush was used to separate the flies into the appropriate categories to avoid any damage to the specimen. As stated previously, males can be distinguished from females because of a few different characteristics: females are slightly larger than males, having seven bands on the posterior end of their abdomens and males eave a dark pigment concentration on their posterior end; males can also be identified by sex-combs on their forelegs. After separating, five males and ten females were placed into new culture tubes, containing a food source. The selection of males and females, as instructed, included both wild type and mutants (if any were present). This was repeated for each mutation and the tubes were labeled and stored for two weeks. At the end of the two week period, it was discovered that the IF generation had not emerged from the papal casing, probably due to a low room temperature. A count of flies present in each culture tube was obtained by beating the aforementioned method of anesthesia and it was concluded that the adult Drosophila present were from the parent [Fl] generation. At this point, the culture tunes contacting ten true IF generation were stores once again Tort a week. The adults had emerged at the end of the final week and were anesthetized, separated, and counted- all through the same procedure as the Fl generation. For sex-linked recessive traits, 100% of females show wild-type characteristics and 100% of males show mutant characteristics in the Fl generation. In the IF generation, 50% of females appear to be wild type and the other 50% are mutants. Males in the IF generation have the same break down. Sex-linked dominant traits are different from their recessive counterparts. In the Fl generation 100% of both sexes show mutant characteristics. 100% of females in the IF generation display mutant characteristics, while 50% of males show wild type and the other 50% show mutant characteristics. This is to say that males will always be either wild type or have the extreme version of the bar-eye mutation: the narrow, red slit. Females, on the other hand can present any of three characteristics associated with this mutation. They may appear as wild type or with the extreme version of the mutation Just as the males, but they may also appear to have kidney-shaped eyes. [8] This is, I believe, one main reason the bar-eye results did not line up with any of the theoretical crosses. Another reason for discrepancy may apply to both the bar-eye mutation and the white eye mutation. Being that these are both sex-linked traits, it is Important to properly separate ten sexes when categorizing ten phenotypes. Since our class has had little experience working with Drosophila, it is safe to assume that mistakes were made. As world financial mechanism operates through its institutions IMF, World Bank, World Trade Organization favors dominated by major economic powers in the overwhelming proportion of the developed countries involved in granting loans, the implementation of foreign direct investment, institutions, transnational companies and state lending obtain higher profits. Globalization is an irreversible reality and any country that thoroughly prepares its future is urged to interfere with it. JE Stiglitz says as globalization as it unfolds today is beneficial for many of the poor world. It is beneficial to the environment. It is beneficial to the stability of world economy. Here is the social responsibility of each of us, national and global responsibility seen as a final goal towards which humanity is heading. Globalization based on a new reality feeling Sustainability, a new mode of action and thought, a process exacerbated by global economic integration. Different vision of globalization landscape meets the location and functions of the market, but also a place in the economy. There have been many new advances in technology in recent years. Because of these advances, such as computers and internet, fake ID’s are becoming easier to get, and their quality is improving. Not too long after states find ways of making ID’s harder to duplicate, the counterfeiters are finding a way to make them. Fake ID’s no longer consist of scratching an 8 into a 3. These advances make it hard to tell apart fake ID’s from the real thing. Some websites sell fake ID’s from $50-5,000. Public education vs. home school Essay

Deciding which is better between public education and home schooling may often cause a debate. There are similarities between them, such as both being a good source of education for students. However, there are a few differences. For instance, home schooled students may graduate earlier than public schooled students while public school has more to offer. Even though home schooling has an advantage, public education is a better educational experience because of the opportunity, social skill development, and the things a student can learn from being in a class size of more than one. While home school may give a student the opportunity to graduate early, public schooling offers many more memories and opportunities that the students will cherish. When attending public school, students are given the opportunity to earn scholarships to help them further their education and continue working on their talents, depending on which way they earn their scholarship. They are given different ways to earn them such as playing sports, getting good grades, and being involved in musical activities. A student attending public school gets a chance to make priceless memories that they cannot get back. The ways that they can earn scholarships also play a part in creating memories. It is going to be a great feeling to be able to look back and tell stories to their loved ones. They will want to share how they got trophies and so much school recognition when they were the starting quarterback or the number one batter on the softball team or even the drum major for the high school band. Students also cannot get letterman jackets being homeschooled while the students in public school is able to get their name and their accomplishment patches on their very own letterman jacket. Each year, students are given a yearbook to look back at pictures they took with their friends and the group activities in which they were involved. There is nothing better than transporting back to the younger days while flipping back through the yearbook as an adult. Also, a certain piece of jewelry can put a smile on the face of an adult as they reminisce. Having a class ring as a souvenir is such a wonderful treasure. Graduating is such a significant accomplishment and students are going to want these memories and something to show for their achievements. Some students do not think having a diploma is not enough. It does not get better than having a class ring to go along with scholarships, letterman jackets, yearbooks, and the cap and gown. When students attend public school, they are learning  life lessons, and while they do not realize it, it pays off in the future. Knowing how to be around all kinds of different people on the daily basis is very beneficial to the students as they develop. Students that are home schooled are not around unfamiliar people, such as new students, new teachers, others that are different from them, and substitutes on a daily basis and this can affect them socially. There will be students that do not get along and students that have to work in groups who may not be too fond of each other, but being in public school will help those students learn how to cope with uncomfortable situations. In the outside world and the future workplace, there will be similar situations, and they will be able to apply the skills that they learned in school to these situations. Having social skills is not just about having friends, it is about knowing how to speak to anybody the proper way at any given time. Having good social skills and knowing how to speak is going to follow the students in their futures. For example, when they go apply for a job, and they are offered an interview right on the spot, they need to know what to say and how to say it. Home schooled students are limited while public schooled students are benefiting quite well from this daily, making public school the better place for students to get an education. A lot of people might say that having a class size of one will help the student learn better and more than the students in a classroom of an average of about twenty-eight people. However, there are a few things that the students can learn from being in a class size of more than one. Patience is one of them. In a class size of one, students are only used to being by themselves and being answered right on the spot. In classrooms of more than one, on the other hand, the students learn patience when they have to wait for their turn. They also learn how to be patient with other students. Not knowing how to be patient can create a sense of selfishness which can give them somewhat of a bad image in the real world. The students also learn how to work in groups with different people that carry different attitudes and personalities. Patience and good social skills can help get through a group project. When working in groups, it can be difficult, especially when every student of the group has t heir own ideas and do not know how to handle the situation in a cordial manner. The work has to get done, and them knowing how to work together is going to go a very long way. There may be a time when a student meets someone in public that  could give them a big opportunity. A student that knows how to speak in a professional tone instead of being shy will have a good chance of getting the chance to take advantage of that opportunity. Public school will teach more lessons than home school giving the students an advantage when it is time to handle different situations in life. Having a class size of one is okay. However, students need to learn how to work around and with others and still get their work done. Students will appreciate the memories they can create and other opportunities that they can earn from getting a public education. The educational experience is more than just learning the school’s curriculum. Being home schooled can teach a student the curriculum along with basic things that they would learn at home while public education can teach m ore than just that such as life lessons that they will need in the future.
